deer crossingLEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — A Lee’s Summit teen is recovering after a one vehicle accident in Johnson County early Tuesday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Rachell Cutrell, 19, was northbound on County Road NW 1901 just after midnight, when she swerved to miss a deer in the roadway. Cutrell’s vehicle travelled off the road, striking an embankment and overturning multiple times before coming to rest.

Cutrell was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. She was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Centerpoint Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries.
