This event is to help support a very strong and brave young lady. “This is our 1st annual Leeton Lions Club 5k walk/run,” said Elwell, “We wanted to reach out to people and try to help support Leanne Binder and some of our other local charities. Leanne is currently undergoing her 3rd lung transplant, so we think this is a good way to give back to her and help assist their family.”
After you get in that healthy morning jog, go ahead and stay a while. “Our community betterment group in Leeton is also hosting their fall festival event,” Elwell said, “Which will include food and crafts in that area, and the 5k will kind of be kicking off this big event.”
“We just hope that people will come and enjoy the event and help us support this great cause,” said Elwell, “Right now we don’t really have a goal, we’re just hoping for a great turn out, and anything is better than nothing.”
Registration is $15 per person or $12 Per person for groups of 10 or more and that starts at 7:30 a.m. at the Grinstead Park in Leeton.
