“On July 18th, we had a major commercial structure fire in Lexington,”said Weber,” Captain Bland was in charge of the 1st engine company. Upon arrival, he noticed there were occupants trapped on the second story actually hanging out a window. Captain Bland had the other crews do their thing in setting up for the fire. He grabbed a ladder and, with the help of a few citizens that were close by, set the ladder up and Captain Bland rescued the two occupants.”
According to Weber, the individuals saved that night received no injuries aside from minor smoke inhalation.
