The search for a new position in the Lexington city government continues. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with Mayor Jerry Brown:
They discussed the search for a city administrator at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting. Councilmen Bill Miller is working on that process.
Council also reviewed the employee health insurance. “The City did what they thought was best for the employees and tried to keep the price down, although in healthcare today, it’s pretty tough to keep the price down, that’s for certain,” said Brown.
A contract for waste and recycling removal was also awarded to AAA Disposal. Brown said two companies entered very similar bids, but AAA provided more information on what they would provide and what they wanted to do. The contract was signed for 2013 through 2014.
