The Lexington City Council put out a survey to gauge public opinion on the hiring of a city administrator to oversee future economic development and other issues. Mayor Jerry Brown says the vote is in and there was a discrepancy on some surveys, but the vote was not close.

The council will move forward with the hire; the search committee has interviewed three people so far and reportedly made an offer to one of them with a that position being filled expected in late May or early June.
