The majority of Missouri Department of Revenue’s 182 License Office contracts are currently up for bid. Both Chillicothe and Sedalia are included in that group.

The DOR is offering tours at each license office. “The purpose of these tours is to provide interested bidders with an opportunity to gain perspective on how a license office is operated,” said Gleba.

The Chillicothe tour will be 5:30 to 6:30 on November 19th. The Sedalia office tour will be 5:30 to 6:30 on November 21st.

The competitive bidding process was instituted in 2009, when Governor Jay Nixon took office.”This was one of his first official actions, to make the local license offices run competitively. And so this is our first time, in terms of the majority of them being up for bid. And, again, it is a competitive bidding process. The best bid wins. So we encourage anyone who is qualified and interested in submitted in a bid to visit our website and submit a proposal.”

The Sedalia office generated more than $270,000 in fees in FY 2013. The Chillicothe office brought in more than $101,000.
