Wright says the new fire station will house the emergency operations center for the county. The money received from SEMA will go toward upgrading communications within the building. Several video units to track emergency information and a separate internet connection for Livingston County Emergency Management will be installed in the facility.

Part of the money will also go toward a U.T.V. for the department. Wright says the vehicle will be used to service areas an ambulance cannot access due to terrain issues.
