Livingston County Farm Bureau will host their annual meeting for members Thursday evening, September 11th. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross speak with President Sherry Jones:
Several area educators will be special guests for the evening. “Missouri Farm Bureau has a mini-grant program that allows teachers to apply for funding for special projects that includes agriculture education in the curriculum,” said Jones, “We had eight teachers in the community that received those grants this year and we are going to recognize them.”
The organization will also host a guest speaker at the event. “I’m excited to have with us this year Joshua Hawley,” said Jones, “Josh in an attorney and professor of law at the University of Missouri. He was one of the litigators before the U.S. Supreme Court in the Hobby Lobby case. He has been involved in litigating other religious liberty cases and will address those experiences, as well as the Hobby Lobby case.”
The event is being held at the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church on east Highway 36. Dinner will be served starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP to the Farm Bureau office at 660-646-6644.
