LIVINGSTON, Mo.- A new training opportunity is being provided at the Livingston County Health Center focused on educating adults on child abuse prevention. The “Stewards of Children” child abuse prevention training is a two hour video focused interactive training program focused on teaching adults about the warning signs of child abuse and how to respond to different situations.

The program was put together by the “Darkness to Light” organization with the focus of reducing incidents of child sexual abuse.

Anyone can participate in the training which will take place Tuesday, August 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Livingston County Health Center, at 800 Adam Drive in Chillicothe, Missouri. With sexual abuse affecting 1 in 10 children the program is designed to increase knowledge on the subject “as well as change attitudes and behaviors regarding the protection of children.”

Citizens interested in attending the training should call Livingston County Health Center at 660-646-506 to register, there is no cost to participate.
