The Livingston County Commission is hosting a retirement reception in honor of the long time-Presiding Commissioner Eva Danner-Horton. Chillicothe has been her home since 1971, so she has hope for the County and the good people that reside there after she steps down. “I would like to see Livingston County continue to be the progressive county that it is,” Danner-Horton expressed, “I feel like we have really good elected officials and a good staff, good servants, because that’s what we are. We need to be public servants. I have appreciated all of those that have worked to meet the needs of the people in our community, and I just hope that it continues.”
While today’s party is to commemorate her years of service, she knows she could not have done it without her constituents. “I would really just like to thank the people of Livingston County for the confidence they put into me by leaving me in office for 20 years,” said Danner-Horton, ” I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of serving them and I hope they think I’ve done well. I know that they will be supportive of the future commissioners and I appreciate that.”
Wednesday’s shin-dig will get under way at the Court House in the Livingston County Commission Room. The event will begin with an open house running from 11:00-2:00 followed by the reception from 2:00-3:30.
