CAMERON, Mo. — A woman from Chillicothe was arrested by Cameron Police on Saturday night.

Police arrested Kierna L. Rhoton, 22 after she attempted to flee from officers in Hamilton. She reportedly failed to yield to a Hamilton police officer when she sped away at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.

Rhoton traveled as far as Cameron before she was apprehended. The Cameron Sheriffs Department placed spike strips in the road in attempt to stop the vehicle. Rhoton’s vehicle struck the spike strips and came to rest in a ditch where she was arrested.

Upon investigation of her vehicle, police allegedly found methamphetamine, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia. Police also found that her vehicle had been reported stolen and that she had two outstanding warrants in Kansas City and Livingston County.

Her trial is set for October 31 at the Clinton Associates Court.
