“We decided to do a haunted house last year and it went over pretty well,” said Clint Reeves, President of the booster club. “We’re calling the whole thing ‘Nightmare on Bynum Presents: Theater of Terror.'”
The event has been used in the past to generate funding for the fine arts at Lone Jack high school, allowing them to make necessary purchases. Reeves said the attendance to last year’s haunted house was promising, but he is hoping for a bigger turnout this year.
The Theater of Terror will feature characters from classic horror flicks including, ‘Friday the 13th’ and ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre.’ While the main event is for adults, Reeves said even children can find something to do.
“We’ve made it our own,” said Reeves. “There’s some games to play with the ‘Wizard of Oz’ theme. We have cotton candy tornadoes, little witch center pieces and so forth.”
The Theater of Terror will be open Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, from 7:00 to 11:30 p.m. at the Lone Jack Civic Center.
