A Sedalia woman charged in the death of her 18-month-old daughter is now charged with possession of contraband inside the Saline County Jail.

Lydia Iliff, 32 apparently gained possession of a cell-phone that was allegedly smuggled in by Jenna Kolstad of Marshall. Kolstad is charged with alleged possession of contraband and filing a false police report.

Illiff reportedly tried to contact two Marshall residents, asking about her daughter “Lexie”. The Saline County Sheriff’s Office received the information from one of the people Illiff contacted with the cell-phone.

Illiff faces one count of murder and endangering the welfare of a child in connection to the abandonment or her daughter on the side of an area creek bed back in early July.
