Macon man James R. Shepherd,35, was arrested on May 18th after a police chase.   After a simple attempt by police to make contact with Shepherd, in what should have been a normal traffic stop, Shepherd fled from police, allegedly committing several traffic violations.  He was arrested on counts of diving while intoxicated, driving while revoked, resisting arrest by fleeing, careless and imprudent operation, failing to display headlights, no insurance, 7 counts of failing to stop for a stop sign, and displaying plates belonging to another vehicle.  Shepherd is incarcerated at the Macon County Jail on a $29,000 cash-only bond.
