On October 20, 2010, six students from the Malta Bend FFA Chapter left for Indianapolis, Indiana to attend the 83rd National FFA Convention. The theme this year was Infinite Potential, to emphasize the large number of opportunities available for agricultural students. After the extremely long drive, we checked in to our hotel and soon left for the Opening Session at the Conseco Fieldhouse. After the Opening Session we walked to Lucas Oil Stadium to see the Lady Antebellum and Easton Corbin concert. Thursday, the 21st, we walked around the FFA Career Show and then attended the Second Session with guest speaker, Josh Shipp, who was an amazing motivational speaker. That evening, we also went to the Hypnotist Show, and it was fun and hilarious. Friday we drove to Albany, Indiana to tour the Shaffer’s hog farm, here our charter bus got stuck in a very small mud hole. Friday night we went to the Incredible Pizza Arcade, which was pretty fun. Saturday, our last day, we attended the Eighth Session and American Degree Ceremony, which made for a long morning. Saturday evening we arrived home, overall it was fun and educational as well.
