PETTIS COUNTY, Mo. – A counsel status hearing is scheduled this morning for a convicted felon accused of kidnapping.
Corey T. Owens, 28, was paroled from the Missouri Department of Corrections, just days before he allegedly attempted to abduct a small girl who was visiting at the Sedalia home where he was staying. During Owens arrest on December 15th, he was reportedly in possession of methamphetamine. Owens has previous convictions for assault, theft and drug possession.
At the 9:00 a.m. in Pettis County, he faces felony counts of first degree kidnapping, possession of a controlled substance, assault in the third degree and resisting arrest for a felony.
