Pettis-County-Courthouse-MissouriSEDALIA, Mo – A Syracuse, Missouri man is in police custody after reportedly misdirecting authorities as to the whereabouts of a suspect wanted for possession of a controlled substance.

Documentation by the Pettis County Court system reveals Shannon D. Davis, 31, of Syracuse intentionally deceived officers September 27, 2015 in their attempt to apprehend Shane J. Roberts for possession of methamphetamine.  At a residence of 1417 west 11th Street in Sedalia, Davis allegedly knowingly lied to officers about Roberts’ location at the residence.

A probable cause statement reveals he told officers Roberts was not at the residence.  Roberts was later found by officers hiding in a cardboard box in the basement.

Davis is charged with a felony, hindering the prosecution of a felony.

He posted bond of $1,500 and now awaits an official arraignment of charges in Pettis County October 6, 2015.
