JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. — Charges have been filed against a Warrensburg man on Wednesday.
According to a probable cause statement, officers were dispatched to an address in Warrensburg in regards to a domestic disturbance. Officers were advised that Joel Parsons was allegedly intoxicated and refused to let a victim leave with a child and was brandishing a machete.
Parsons reportedly refused to exit the apartment and resisted arrest.
The victim told Parsons to leave the apartment. Parsons refused and grabbed a machete, locked the apartment door and refused to let the victim leave.
Parsons faces formal charges of felony burglary in the first degree, kidnapping in the second degree, unlawful use of a weapon and resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony.
No court date has been scheduled.
