Update (9:30 a.m.) – According to social media, the victim has been identified as Kyle Persinger, 23.  He wrote on his Facebook page that he broke his leg after he “slipped into the auger of a combine.”  Persinger was released from the hospital on Saturday.  He is expected to have additional surgeries.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a man had to be rescued from a combine auger this past weekend in the Dawn area.  Authorities believe the unidentified man was probably in his mid-20s.  He was taken to Carroll County Memorial Hospital, according to a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office.  His condition is not known.  No additional information is expected to be released at this time.
