UPDATE: 12/13/2019, 4:13 p.m. — According to the Marceline Police, the lockdown was requested due to a subject held up inside of a home with a firearm. A Facebook post states it did not happen near the school and the lockdown was ordered as a precaution.
MARCELINE, Mo – The Marceline School District was placed on lockdown Friday.
The lockdown occurred from 3 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. due to an alleged incident within city limits. The incident reportedly involved an armed citizen who was believed to be dangerous.
Students were released upon the lockdown being lifted. Buses are running normal routes, according to the Marceline R-V School District.
The Marceline Police Department declined to comment.
