Press Release from the Chillicothe Farmer’s Market

This Saturday will start our second year of Market Basket Giveaways at the Chillicothe Farmers Market. The event is held on the last Saturday of every month the Market is open, May through October and is much anticipated by customers and producers alike. Every producer attending Market that day will donate an item from their offering to create a bountiful basket of in-season produce, baked goods and more from the Market. Produce currently in season and seen at Market this spring includes leaf lettuce, mesclun mix, kale, broccoli, radishes, spinach, green onions, new potatoes, strawberries, rhubarb and asparagus. A large variety of baked goods, honey products, plus fresh eggs, frozen meats, greenhouse and nursery plants and assorted crafts are also available this spring. Customers can sign up to win the bounty only during the Market, but do not need to be present to win at 10:00 AM. Stop by, check out the offerings and sign up for your chance to win “Fresh From Your Neighbors” this Saturday on the west-side courthouse square, downtown Chillicothe.
