Marshall City Council meeting:
MARSHALL, Mo.- Marshall City Council held their first meeting of the month last night, October 5, 2015. The meeting started with a prayer, roll coll, adoption of the agenda, and business from the audience. One resident stepped forward and expressed concern about sidewalks, and restoration of Miami Street, parallel to the high school.
Committee reports were listed next on the agenda. Community Development and Code Committee reported 52 building permits were issued last month, for a total of $1,000,000 plus dollars. Municipal Services and Personnel Committee reported next on the reduction of airport activity and solid waste numbers.
The City Administrator provided a report on the closing of the fiscal year and a preview of the upcoming year. Also on the audit that is scheduled to start November 2, 2015, and should last a couple days.
There were 4 ordinances addressed on the agenda that included the authorization of contracts. The council authorized and adopted contracts with Marshall Community Chorus, Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra which is a yearly requirement. The two other contracts were between Rhad Baker Construction and Gerken Enviromental Enterprises, who are both hired to remodel the airport terminal.
Meeting was adjourned following ordinances. Marshall City Council will meet again in two weeks on October 19, 2015, in the city buildings at 5:15 p.m.
