The Marshall City Council met to discuss several items Tuesday night. Click to hear KMZU’s Bob Allen talk with Marshall City Administrator Connie Latimer:
Latimer says next years budget is almost complete and it looks as though the city will deficit spend by approximately $87,000, a figure which is drastically reduced from where it started when the city began looking at next year’s budget.
In other council news, Marshall children may soon have an appointed time to trick-or-treat. The city has been exploring an afternoon period for the holiday festivity for safety reasons. Latimer believes many elderly residents aren’t opening their door to children after dark due to concerns for their well-being and promoting a daylight time could reduce some incidents of vandalism.
Council also approved resolutions to require permits for large gatherings at city parks and to display “In God We Trust” outside chambers.
