An amendment to some city property rental fees took center stage at Tuesday night’s Marshall City Council meeting.  Under the new system, the city would take 1/3 of the crops grown in place of a flat rental fee.  City administrator Connie Latimer says the change will be more beneficial for the city and will not mean any extra expenses in upkeep for the city.  The farmland being discussed is 180 acres which is used to grow corn and soybeans.
