For several years the Marshall School district has been partnering with Fitzgibbon Hospital to raise money. Click to hear KMZU’s Bob Allen talk with Marshall High School Athletic Director Caleb Crawford:
Crawford says everyone has embraced pink week as an opportunity to increase awareness about breast cancer and this year’s events are expanded as Missouri Valley College asked to participate. Crawford believes its a huge benefit to get more people involved. The community has embraced the weeks festivities.
Crawford says two highlights of the week are the powder-puff football game between the high school staff and the hospital staff and the “Pink-Out” football game Friday night against Kirksville at seven o’clock.
According to Crawford, the school is Valley, Fitzgibbon Hospital, and local businesses to raise money for the cancer center at the hospital as all the funds gathere from t-shirt sales and gate fees are given to the hospital to use for facilities.
