This weekend people in and around Marshall can dispose of prescription and over-the-counter drugs they don’t need or want.  Detective William McMellen says the annual drug take back program is available to everyone.

“If they’re out dated or expired,” he says, “let’s get rid of them safely.

This is the second drug take back event the community has hosted this year.  The previous collection resulted in around 60 pounds of unwanted medications.  The detective says the program helps ensure the drugs are not “abused or accidently ingested.”

Medications will be accepted at the city office building from 10 a.m.  to 2 p.m. Saturday, September 29th.
