A man robbed the Dollar General Store on College Street in Marshall Tuesday night. The Marshall Police Department reports a white man in his early twenties left the store with an undisclosed amount of money at around 7 p.m. He fled the scene in an older model Chevrolet pick up and has since been arrested by police.

Subject:  Armed Robbery

On Tuesday, 01-14-2014 at approximately 1917 hours, Saline County 911 received an emergency telephone call from an employee at the Dollar General Store at 911 W. College stating an armed robbery had just occurred.  Saline County 911 dispatched Marshall Police to investigate.

Employees stated the suspect was a white man in his early twenties, approximately 5 foot 10 inches tall, medium build with short brown hair and a groomed beard.  The man was wearing a two tone colored black and white colored ball cap with white mesh and white lettering on the front of the hat, dark colored jacket, plaid shirt and blue jeans.  An employee at the store stated the man placed his hand on a gun which was tucked in his pant and placed his finger on the trigger and asked for the money from the register.  The man received an undetermined amount in cash from the employee and then left the store and entered an older model Chevrolet, red or maroon in color, pickup and left the area.

Marshall Police along with Saline County Sheriff’s Deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol are working together to locate the suspect.
