Mary Dell Noble, 82, of Lawson, died Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Lawson Manor.

Mary was born on July 8, 1937, in rural Orrick, the daughter of James Vernon and Velma Margaret (Woods) Tarwater. She was united in marriage to James Wesley Noble of Millville on July 8, 1955; he survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: three sons: John Wesley (Deborah) Noble of Lathrop, James Raymond (Jill) Noble of Richmond, and Thomas William (Romona) Noble of Norfolk, NE; two daughters, Nancy Ellen (R. Edward) Dobbins of Kansas City and Barbara Ann (Terry) Maidment of Ridgecrest, CA; 15 grandchildren: Amanda Cockrum, Jeff (Chrissy) Noble, Cole (Jennifer) Noble, Tara (Nathan) Quick, Clay (Hacky) Noble, Collin (Tiffany) Noble, Jillian Noble (Paul Redmond), Charlie Noble, Patrick (Alexandria) Noble, Donna Jean (Kyle) Coover, Paige Noble, Diane Dobbins, Racheal Dobbins, Shelly (Cody) Burgwald, and Dianne (James) Merkel; 13 great-grandchildren: Megan, Nathan, Autum, Kennedy, Adia, Avarie, Grayson, Gavin, Benjamin, Lilyann, Charlotte, Hazel, Aiden, and two on the way; and brother, James Carlos (Anne) Tarwater of Eudora, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Phyllis Ann Tarwater, in infancy.

Mary was reared and educated in the area of her birth. She attended Red Brush and Hall rural schools and graduated from Orrick High School in 1955 as Valedictorian and Senior Class President. In addition to being a housewife and homemaker, she worked as night cook at the Ray County Memorial Hospital. Mary was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Rayville and lived most of her life in Ray County. She was a kind and forgiving person, but was stern if she had to be. She enjoyed reading and sewing.

Visitation with funeral services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M., with services to follow at 2:00 P.M.
