CARROLL COUNTY, Mo. — Firefighters in Braymer spent eleven hours fighting a massive grass fire Thursday night. According to a post on the Braymer Volunteer Fire Department’s Facebook page, crews responded to the brush fire Thursday afternoon.
Multiple agencies were called in for mutual aid, including the state fire marshal, the Breckenridge, Dawn and Stet Fire Departments and other state officials. The first responders were on the scene just after 4:00 p.m. Thursday.
The fire was reported off Carroll County Roads 121 and 130 and roughly 500 acres were singed by the flames, according to Assistant Fire Chief Andrew Pratt. The department thanked neighbors for their help providing tractors, food and water.
No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged by the flames.
