Patty Hasselbring, Director of the Alzheimer’s Unit spoke with KMZU’s Sandi Wilson about the memory walk happening on September 20th.
Loch Haven Senior Living Community in Macon is holding their annual memory walk at Long Branch Lake Saturday, September 20th. Director of the Alzheimer’s Unit, Patty Hasselbring, says there is no registration fee and they use the registration process to gauge how many people they have participating.
Once you get to Long Branch all the activities will be set up at the first shelter across the dam. Registration will begin at 9:00 with a small ceremony to commemorate those battling Alzheimer’s and those who have lost the fight. The walk will get started at 10:00 a.m.
Patty encourages the public to come out and support a great cause. A $100 donation will get you a t-shirt and the great thing about the money raised for the memory walk is all the funds stay in Macon County. Not only will it support research but will also benefit organizations that provide relief efforts to family members caring for a loved one.
