CHARITON COUNTY, Mo. – A Mendon man whose wheelchair bound passenger was lost when he drove into flood water has been arraigned in Chariton County.

At the hearing Tuesday morning, the attorney for  James W. Pleasant, 45, entered a not guilty plea and waived a formal arraignment. Pleasant is charged with first degree involuntary manslaughter in the May 31st disappearance of Alicia Meyer, 33, near Triplett.

A setting or disposition hearing is scheduled for the afternoon of June 25th.
