A free class is coming up January 7th and 14th to help community leaders identify and properly handle signs of mental illness.

The Mental Health First Aid course will be hosted at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Grand Pass.

It is a two-part course and anyone who would like to participate is asked to pre-register by calling 660-493-2560.

The classes are being offered at no charge.  The course is valued at $150 and lunch is provided.

Class size is limited to 25 people.

NAMI Missouri maintains what they call a “warm line” for anyone who would like the chance to talk with somebody regarding their mental health.

That number is 800-374-2138.  The line is staffed from 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. seven days a week.
