CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. – A Michigan driver who was flown for treatment after an accident in Callaway County will face several traffic charges.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Thomas R. Anton, 53, of Oak Park Michigan is facing allegations of driving while intoxicated as a chronic offender, driving while revoked and careless and imprudent driving after a one vehicle accident just after 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

The report indicates Anton was eastbound on Interstate 70 just East of Highway 54 when he ran off the left side of the roadway into the median, struck a median cable and overturned.

Anton was flown to University Hospital with serious injuries.
