MILLER COUNTY, Mo. — A Miller County Jail employee was charged Monday for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a female inmate at the Miller County Jail.

Sheriff Louie Gregoire was made aware or the complaint on Friday, August 3 and began to interview employees and inmates at the facility.

The investigation identified the suspect as detention officer Samuel Evans. During a later interview with Evans, the sheriff said he admitted to having sexual contact with a female inmate.

Evans was arrested and later charged with felony sexual conduct with a prisoner of offender by a jail employee. He has already posted the $10,000 bond.

Future court dates have not been set at this time.
