The USDA is being urged to act quickly in responding to requests toward ameliorating the effects of drought in the state.

Surveys conducted by Missouri Farm Bureau prompted a joint response from Missouri Farm Service Agency with a request to release CRP acreage for emergency haying and grazing for drought affected areas. The statement released today by Farm Bureau urges federal officials to act without any further delay in approving the request. The statement also indicates, the drought outlook for Missouri has worsened since the request.
