JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri set a new record on Tuesday for daily COVID-19 confirmed cases. The Missouri Department of Health reports 773 new cases today, breaking the two-week-old record by more than 200.

The state health department said, via Twitter, the record number of cases is in part due to slower data reporting over the holiday weekend.

Total deaths attributed to COVID-19 now stands at 1,042 among 24,629 confirmed cases since the outbreak started.
