JEFFERSON CITY, MO – A bill approved by the Missouri Senate reportedly criminalizes the manufacture and distribution of opioids, fentanyl or carfentanil.

House representative, Dean Dohrman, of LaMonte, announced in a regular report that knowingly distributing, manufacturing, or attempting to do so, would fall under class A or B felonies in the proposed legislation if the amount of fentanyl or carfentanil is over 20 milligrams.

The trafficking of so-called date rape drugs, GHB and Rohypnol is also penalized harshly in the legislation.

The bill still needs final approval in the House before consideration in the Senate.
