Included on the November ballot in Missouri will be a minimum wage question.
Proposition B would gradually increase minimum wage in Missouri, to $12 per hour by 2023, locking in wage increases over the course of five years. The state’s current minimum wage, at $7.85 per hour, would jump to $8.60 per hour and increase by 85 cents per year until 2023. Only after 2023, would the wage be subject to increase or decrease each year based on changes in the consumer price index. It would also exempt government employers, and increase penalties for breaking minimum wage law.
