BOONE COUNTY, Mo. — The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is in the middle of a death investigation.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, around 11:30 p.m. Monday, authorities were dispatched to investigate a disturbance just north of Columbia.

Gun shots, distress and a sounding alarm were reported in a 911 call. Multiple shots were fired at deputies during arrival and a fire was later seen inside the residence on N. Creasy Springs Road. Contact with anyone inside could not be made and the fire delayed police entrance due to the unstable scene.

After the fire was able to be extinguished, SWAT entered the house after 2 a.m. and found Bobbie Jo Robinson, 39, of Columbia, and Stefan L. Dailing, 41, of Moberly dead inside.

Autopsies will be performed and an investigation is ongoing.
