The Boone County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Moberly man Wednesday afternoon on allegations of child pornography promotion.

Adam Wesley Imhoff, 28, was the subject of an investigation that began in June when a Cyber Crimes Task Force investigator found a computer based in mid Missouri that was allowing the download of child porn photos. A search warrant was executed at a residence in the 400 block of Roberts Street. Two computers were seized and on the hard drives were about 248 photographs and 31 videos depicting the sexual molestation of children some believed to be as young as 4 years of age.

Imhoff is currently being held in the Boone County Jail.

On Wednesday, September 29, 2013 investigators with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force, the Moberly Police Department, and the FBI arrested a 28 year old Moberly, Missouri man for the suspicion of distributing child pornography.

This arrest is the result of an investigation that began in mid-June 2013 when a Cyber Crimes Task Force investigator identified a computer home network in the mid-Missouri area officering child pornography. The task force investigator in Columbia subsequently downloaded 5 child pornography photographs from the suspect computer.

Cyber Crimes Task Force investigators were able to trace the sent child pornography to a specific residence in Moberly, Missouri.

On Wednesday morning, September 25, 2013 investigators with the Cyber Crimes Task Force, Moberly Police Department, and FBI served a court ordered search warrant at the Moberly residence in question. As a result of that search two computers were seized. An onsite investigation located approximately 248 photographs and 31 videos depicting the sexual molestation of children some believed to be as young as 4 years of age. As a result of the onsite investigation a specific suspect was identified and arrested.

 The suspect is identified as 28 year old Adam Wesley Imhoff of 416 Roberts Street, Moberly, Missouri. The suspect was arrested for the suspicion of promoting child pornography and was transported to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department in Columbia, Missouri. The suspect is currently in the Boone County Jail pending the filing of formal charges by the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
