A Randolph County resident is now facing felony charges.
According to the Probable Cause Statement, Angelica Nicole Benitez, 23, of Moberly, was taken into custody Sunday afternoon on 2 counts of assault in the 1st degree and armed criminal action.
Benitez reportedly admitted to the incident, stating after she saw the victim she “lost it” and hit said victim with her vehicle, then exited the vehicle and stabbed the other girl multiple times. Benitez also reportedly admitted the altercation began because she was upset with the victim over “social media comments,” and the situation “was taken way to far.”
The victim was taken to Moberly Regional Medical Center for treatment of lacerations and a fractured leg.
Benitez will now await her March 30th arraignment in the Randolph County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond.
