DEWITT, MO – An area roadway that has been closed for many weeks due to flooding may open late Friday.

The northwest district area engineer for Missouri’s Transportation Department, Randy Mendenhaal, says Route 41 near DeWitt in Carroll County may reopen Friday. Mendenhaal says an inspection of road damage this week indicated temporary repairs could be attempted, allowing one lane of Route 41 to be reopened, and signals installed for traffic control. MODOT also hopes an expected river rise over the weekend will not bring water back over the roadway.

Crews are currently making repairs, and monitoring conditions.
