Following a holiday week filled with ice and snow, road crews will be few and far between.
There will not be new projects undertaken this week, only works in progress will impact traffic through Friday.
In Boone County work continues on I-70 bridges over Business Loop 70, Garth Avenue and Rangeline Street. However, only periodic lane closures on northbound and southbound Rangeline are expected.
Local motorists should avoid I-70 through Columbia as much as possible until this project is finished next fall.
In Callaway County crews will continue to work on Route O, between County Road 111 and County Road 419. That’s a culvert pipe replacement. Work will run through Friday, he 8th.
And in Gentry County U.S. Route 169 remains closed at the Linn Creek Bridge for deck replacement. This work is scheduled until the middle of this month.
Below are links to each individual district’s work schedule.
Winter is here so remember to have your vehicle stocked with blankets, road flares, first aid kit, food, water and shovel. Make sure tires are roadworthy and you have all necessary fluids, especially antifreeze and washer fluid.
Be ready to slow down and put extra distance between yourself and other vehicles when precipitation is present and use caution on curved and hill-tops.
