The Saline County Rural Fire Protection Association received good news this week in the form of a grant from Monsanto.

The seed giant has allocated $9,749 for the association to purchase an infrared, heat detector camera. The device is critical in locating a missing person or someone trapped in a structure in a fire or other emergency scenario.

The camera is expensive and rarely seen in a rural fire house Monsanto Operations Supervisor, Britt Hinklin says the grant shows the company is committed to Saline County’s rural population.
