More accolades for the defensive prowess of the Kansas City Royals, as Center fielder Lorenzo Cain and left fielder Alex Gordon received 2014 Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Awards on Wednesday night.Both were named best defensive players at their positions in the Major Leagues. Cain was honored for the second straight year and Gordon for the first time.

Cain was third in the Majors in zone rating and fourth in the American League in range factor per nine innings. He had a career-high eight assists and made just two errors in 348 chances. Gordon also had eight assists with two errors in 351 chances. Gordon led American League outfielders in games with 156, and innings played at 1,372 2/3.
