Morgan County, MO — The Morgan County Health Center has confirmed its first positive covid-19 case. The patient is being isolated but no other information about the patient is being released.

Morgan County authorities say it is important to social distance and take the necessary preventative measures to help flatten the pandemic curve.

People are advised if they are having Covid-19 symptons to call The Department of Health and Senior services hotline.

Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) is currently treating two inpatients that have tested presumptive positive for the novel Coronavirus.

The WMMC CEO Darinda Dick said she cannot stress enough the importance of following social distancing guidelines.

“It is more important now than ever to adopt the ‘shelter in place’ method and to not be in contact with anyone other than immediate family,” Dick said.  “We need to flatten the curve and reduce the strain on healthcare systems in our country.”

The Medical Center has restricted visitors for extra precautionary measures. To see the restrictions, please visit WMMC.com/COVID-19.
