SALINE COUNTY, Mo. – Several disagreements were worked out Monday, during the review of a murder case going to trial next month in Saline County.

On a motion for sanctions against the prosecuting attorney, the court ordered the state to provide all documentation related to an April 4, Missouri Highway Patrol report and any other patrol report not already disclosed. After arguing a motion about the toxicology report on the deceased, the matter was settled by agreement. The state’s motion to endorse witnesses was granted and the defendant is to provide discovery concerning experts they call to testify on behalf of James Scott Miller, 55, of Marshall. Miller is accused of second degree murder and armed criminal action in the December, 2018, shooting death of  Joshua Smith, 21, of Marshall.

A pre-trial conference is planned for the 8th of July.
