Those wanting to pursue a career in law enforcement will soon have another option. Click to hear KMZU’s Bob Allen talk with Missouri State Highway Patrol Assistant Director of Public Information and Education – Lieutenant John Hotz
Hotz says Basic Law Enforcement training will be available beginning in January of 2012. According to Lieutenant Hotz, the class covers topics including criminal law, firearms, search and seizure, and crime scene procedures. Many organizations around the state have their own training, but some want their applicants to complete the 600-hour state requirement. This Highway Patrol sponsored course fulfills the mandatory standards set out by the state of Missouri.
