Heavy rainfall over the last few days means motorists must be vigilant on the road. Missouri State Highway Patrol Captain Tim Hull said drivers should act quickly if they are caught in their vehicle in rising water:
Hull also reminded drivers that headlights are required by state law when windshield wipers are in use. He asked travelers to acknowledge and respect the roadblocks set up by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and by local officials. Hull also talked about the importance of being aware of farmers on Missouri roads over the coming summer months.
Missouri drivers are encouraged to use caution over the summer months when state roadways are busier than usual. Hull also outlined the importance of always wearing a seat belt while driving and wearing a life jacket when boating on Missouri’s waterways.
