UPDATE: (05/05/19, 12:22 a.m.) – The University of Missouri – Columbia, cancelled an alert over a person with a gun near the campus Saturday night. Just before 8:00 p.m., a white male was observed near Hill and University Avenue, with a pistol in the waistband of his trousers. University Police posted a message that the individual had been located and identified. Officers who spoke to the subject, said there is no threat to the campus.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri – Columbia issued an alert just before 8:00 p.m. Saturday night for a person with a gun near campus.

The broadcast says a person with a gun was reported near Hill Street and University Avenue. No shots have been reported. Students are to leave or stay away from the area. Police were responding to the call at that time.
